Located at the entrance to Banff National Park, the mountain Town of Canmore sits on the eastern slopes of the Canadian Rocky Mountains, and is a 90 minute drive from Calgary International Airport. Site of the 1988 Winter Olympic biathlon and cross-country ski events, today Canmore hosts numerous events, such as world cup cross-country ski and mountain bike races and the Canmore Fole Festival. Canmore's popularity has grown and its population has soared to approximately 17,000, however the town has maintained its small town ambience. Surrounded by incredible mountain scenery, the Town of Canmore is adjacent to Banff National Park to its west and Kananaskis Country's nine provincial parks to its south. From its modest beginnings as a mining town, Canmore has developed into a major tourist destination, offering a full range of amenities, world class facilities and numnerous recreational opportunities.

The summer 2014 Hockey School will be held in the Canmore Recreation Centre in the town of Canmore, Alberta.
